Operation Blue Ribbon

Community involvement is thriving in Halifax and focusing on a commitment to support those who put their lives on the line every day in order to serve and protect us. Once it was mentioned by Chief Kevin Lands that the Town of Halifax Police Department is in need of updated, most protective bullet proof vests, the Halifax community came together in the effort to raise funds for the purchase of this life saving equipment. Within a few days’ organizers did what they do best… they organized… and ‘Operation Blue Ribbon’ emerged! The Halifax Village Association will be selling Operation Blue Ribbon Support bows for $5 each. These bows will be made of blue and black ribbon and can be hung outside to show your support for your police department. Bows can be purchased at most businesses in Halifax. They will also be for sale at the Halifax Farmers Market. If you would like to place and order for bows, please call Triangle Florist 434-476-7246 or Hite Insurance Agency 434-476-2164. On Saturday, July 23, from 4pm thru 7pm, Blessed Hope Church will be sponsoring a spaghetti supper fundraiser at the Church located at 65 South Main Street, Halifax. Plates will be $5 and carry out is available. Donations will gladly be accepted. All proceeds will go to Operation Blue Ribbon for the purchase of vests. Thank you for your support as we support those who have sworn to protect us.
