The Town of Halifax requires that all garbage be in an enclosed container with a top. The container needs to be placed at curbside no later than 8 AM to ensure pick-up.
Important Notification Implementation of Mandatory Recycling Program
Monday Schedule:
Mountain Road, Canterbury Drive, Mimosa Drive, Oak Lane, Pine Lane, Cedar Lane, Poplar Lane, Crawford Road, Academy Street, Craddock Street and Main Street (from Mountain Road to railroad tracks)
Tuesday Schedule:
From railroad tracks south on 501 to town boundary, Golf Course Road, Brookrun, Cowford Road, Gatha's Trail, Ballou Trail and Banister Road
Thursday Schedule:
Maple Avenue, Buena Vista, Park Lane, Lakeside Drive, Harding Street, Snead Lane, Elam Street, Hedderly Street, Back Street, Jackson Street, Main Street (from Mountain Road north on 501 to town boundary) and 360 east to town boundary
Wednesday is recycling day. Please put any recycleable item at curbside no later than 8 AM. These items need to be in an enclosed container. Current recyclable items are - aluminum cans, metal cans, newspapers, milk, soda, and water bottles (look for #1 & #2 on bottom) and corrugated cardboard.
The town has a special pick-up day in the spring and fall of each year. The special day will be announced in the local papers. The purpose of this special pick-up day is for collecting items that are not normally picked up. If you have any questions, please contact the town office.
