LIBRARY PLANS EVENTS TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK
National Library Week, an annual celebration of the importance of libraries, will be April 8-14. The Halifax County-South Boston Public Library System has several events planned around that time.
On April 7 the Halifax Public Library will host Author Day. Sonya Falls, Lisa Kipps-Brown, and Andrea Palmer Woodward, all local authors, will be selling and signing copies of their books at the Halifax Public Library from 11 am until 1 pm.
On April 10 at the South Boston Public Library historian and researcher Emma Edmunds will present a lecture entitled A Jewel of a Friendship: Levi Hamilton and Joe Hodges. The lecture will begin at 6:30 pm.
There will be a reduced price book sale from April 9-14 at both library locations. Hardback books will be reduced to .50 cents each and paperback books will be reduced to .25 cents each.
Celebrate National Library Week and support your local public library.
