Flotsam Flotilla - Rescheduled for Oct 20th

Join the "Flotsam Flotilla” river cleanup on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 9 a.m. on the Banister River, designated a State Scenic River.

We will meet at the King’s Bridge Landing in charming Halifax, Virginia. Thanks to funding from the Duke Energy Water Resources Fund, boats and all gear can be provided if you don't have your own.

FREE T shirt for the first 25 volunteers who sign up.

What to wear: Dress in synthetic fabric, be prepared to get wet. Although the trip is not technically demanding or hazardous, all boaters will be asked to sign a waiver with the Dan River Basin Association and with the outfitters. Recommended minimum age is 12 years old accompanied by a parent or legally responsible adult. Please note that everyone must register who is participating in the cleanup. Minors must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

What to bring: Bring lunch and a dry bag for anything you wish to keep dry on the river. Be sure to bring plenty of water. A change of clothes might be nice for when you get off the river.
