Summer Reading Program at the Library - Starts June 2nd

SUMMER READING KICKOFF AT THE LIBRARY!

Join the Halifax County-South Boston Public Library for another awesome summer reading program.

The kickoff will take place on June 2 at 1 pm at the South Boston Public Library.  Brian Buchanan from the Danville Science Museum will introduce the audience to the importance of environmental stewardship using hands-on models to engage the audience. Following that the audience will learn about different butterfly species found in our area. Brian will bring specimens to observe. Each participant will create a butterfly to take home.

The library has lots of great programs planned for children and teens this summer.  Reading logs will be available at both library locations starting on June 2.

The library will also once again be a summer meals location.  From June 4-July 18 lunches will be offered at the South Boston Public Library at noon and at the Halifax Public Library at
12:15 pm, while snacks will be offered at both locations at 3:40 pm.  Meals and snacks will be offered Mondays-Thursdays and there will be no meals or snacks on July 4 and July 5.

Have fun this summer at the library!
